Week Seven Flame Puppies Last Update 08/06/2015
Friday, November 3, 2006 -- Day 46 Flame insists on continuing to nurse her brood. I told her that this weekend will be her last opportunity for nursing; that I'm going to have to cut her food back and start drying her up because she simply cannot commute to California to nurse Carol's puppy! As we approach 7 weeks, those are some mighty sharp puppy teeth sucking out that milk. You can tell from Flame's expression that she's not comfortable, but she certainly enjoys being a mom. It's so wonderful to see her mothering the kids, playing with them and teaching them life lessons. Thanks to Katrina for helping me take the following photos. We both teach classes on Thursday morning, so our routine has been to meet at the training center a few hours early to wear the puppies out. Yesterday we tried to take some more stacked photos during their play session. Blue Boy (above). What a handsome dude! Lovely angulation. Green Boy (above) -- he was FUSSY that day. He saw no need to stand still on the table; he wanted to go play with his littermates and we didn't have a lot of time to do photos before we started teaching our classes, so Mr. Green only had one somewhat decent photo today. Even though he's not stretched out in this photo, he has a very nice little body. And then we have Ms. Photogenic -- Orange Girl. She enjoys baiting and stacking so much her tail wouldn't stop wagging -- which is why she's "tail-less" in the third photo. She is a gorgeous puppy. Here's our Purple Girl. I still have to make fun of her head. Actually, it's not her HEAD, it's the way her fluffy hair is growing that makes her look like she has a pointy head. Very cute puppy and nice body. Yellow Boy (above) looks the most "motley" of the group today. He's getting lots of hair and it seems to be sticking out in all the wrong places. He is adorable and I love his attitude.
